Frequently Asked Questions...
Will I look like myself?
Our clients have a natural, refreshed look. When people leave our office, they report feeling youthful and more confident. Their looks match the vitality they feel at heart. People leave with a sense of ownership towards their own self-care. Our specialist will only recommend treatments that will help a client return to their livelihood, resulting in more relaxed, less worried and balanced appearance.
Will I look "frozen" or as if I got work done?
Both medical background and an artistic eye are necessary to treat a face holistically. When one (or both) are lacking, the provider is relying on a series of "codes" resulting in odd-looking results. There is a crisis in our industry leading to unaesthetic results. The art of aesthetic medicine has been lost to big business and a "more is better" methodology. At Cloud Nine Clinic, we understand that our first step is understanding facial anatomy and our goal is to treat the face holistically. This “less is more” approach leads to results that are natural, subtle and beautiful. This approach works with anatomy and is an elegant way to treat outer and inner beauty. This awareness is a huge reason to make sure to find the right cosmetic injection and skincare specialist.
What are possible complications from Juvederm?
The most serious complications from filler involve the vascular system, in particular the arteries with their connections to the back (retina) of the eye. How to deal with these complications and having an intimate knowledge of this system are the most important parts of aesthetic medicine. It is important that the practice has sufficient amount of Hyaluronidase in order to dissolve filler and act as an antidote in the case of a complication. At Cloud Nine Clinic, we are always prepared.

I hear lips hurt a lot. What does it feel like?
We use a topical lidocaine for numbing prior to injections to the lips or surrounding the lips. By allowing the lidocaine to set for at least 20 minutes, pain levels are significantly decreased. What are the biggest pointers for getting Botox?
Research your Injector! There are many providers who can inject but haven’t been properly trained. Make sure you go to an injector who is injecting often and regularly.
Don’t “search for the sale”. Maybe Groupon is running a 50% discount. But, is your face something you really want to get on sale? It’s worth it to work with someone who has extensive expertise and education. The price of Botox is based on units. Your injector will be able to advise you on how many units you need.
Understand the Side Effects. Common side effects include swelling and bruising. If you have a big event tonight, its best to wait until tomorrow to get your Botox. Getting injected a few days before a big event won’t erase those fine lines! Botox takes between 1-2 weeks to fully settle.
Think Big Picture. Getting Botox regularly can be pricey. But, it can shave years off your appearance. Getting Botox now can save you money in the long run. When your muscles don’t fold over time, the wrinkles don’t set in and become deeper each year. When you treat lines now, there is less to treat in the future!
What is Juvederm Volume?
Voluma is designed to add volume to the cheeks and gives a lifting affect to the area. Skin hollowing and a lack of definition in the cheek area results in sagging skin. Restoring lost volume, gives a youthful look. One of the best parts of Voluma is its longevity. It lasts up to two years! This is a non- surgical treatment that can give a lifted appearance to the face.
Is Botox safe?
Botox has been the number one injectable treatment in America for many years with over 6.6 million cosmetic treatments delivered in 2014 alone. It is not only safe as a cosmetic injectable; it provides relief for many medical conditions including migraine, crossed eyes and facial paralysis. Botox has been safely used in medical treatments since the early Eighties. When used correctly, Botox used for cosmetic use is not associated with any serious side effects. Our highly trained medical professionals know exactly where to place the product and know when to stop. We deliver balanced and harmonious results.
I heard Botox is rat poison!?
Botox is the brand name for Botulinum Toxin type A. This is a purified protein that (like several antibiotics) is derived from a bacterium. Botox is injected just under the skin, into muscles in the face to cause them to relax. When these muscles relax, the lines look softer and sometimes disappear.
Does Botox spread to the brain?
No, Botox stays in the area where it is injected. It does not spread. It’s biodegradable and stays in the muscle for around 4 months. After that, it’s excreted naturally.
