Juvederm Collection of Fillers

 

JUVÉDERM ULTRA XC is an injectable gel used to treat lines around the mouth, nose and lips. It creates a smooth and youthful facial appearance lasting up to one year. As we age, the skin loses its natural ability to produce hyaluronic acid. This is a key element that restores elasticity and plumps the skin. The gel lies smoothly below the surface of the skin, giving natural looking results.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is the thickest filler of the Juvederm collection of fillers, lasting up to two years. As we age, cheeks lose definition, leading to sagging skin. Juvederm Voluma restores this lost volume and helps to achieve a subtle lift that was previously only achieved through an invasive facelift.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC is a soft, silky injectable gel suitable for smoothing perioral lines (wrinkles and lines around the mouth) and for adding subtle volume to the lips. The formula contains a lower hyaluronic acid content for a filler that causes less swelling and downtime and produces longer-lasting results. Juvederm Volbella is a smooth filler that gives a natural look and feel. Volbella injections can also be used to define the contours of your lips, enhance your “Cupid’s bow,” soften marionette lines along the chin and correct down-turned mouth corners.

 

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC is used to correct wrinkles and folds for up to 18 months. It is an even filler designed with a unique balance of gel properties to deliver a smoother appearance of the face.

The Art Behind Fillers

It’s important for practitioners to understand the anatomy of the aging face. When we possess this knowledge, we can create a plan for facial rejuvenation. Instead of looking at one feature of the face, we must look at the face as a whole. When a holistic approach is taken, all areas of the face match and a balanced look is achieved. 

 

The underlying structures of the face must be taken into account. To begin, we must assess the supporting foundation of the face, the bones. As we age, the bones tend to collapse towards the midline, which means that the lower part of the face moves inward as the forehead tends to move outward. The aperture of the orbit of the eye widens and causes a sunken appearance to the eyes. The ligaments, muscles and fat pads undertake their own aging process. Because there is a lack of bony support, the soft tissues of the face have a tendency to sag. The art of fillers is the ability to restore the face taking into consideration both the anatomical structure and entirety of the aging process.
